EducationCedarville University - Bachelors, Integrated Language Arts (7th-12th)
ExperienceI have a love of writing and reading, so it should perhaps come as no surprise that I earned an undergraduate degree in language arts education from Cedarville University. I'm licensed to instruct kids from grade seven to grade 12, and I have expertise working with students in both middle school and high school.Creative writing is my specialty, and this helps me to focus on writing and reading, two areas that I am, as mentioned above, passionate about. That said, I'm very much capable of tutoring in all of the language arts, and can help students to pass the verbal and written portions of the SAT/ACT with flying colors!I am skilled in the art of diagnostics. What this means is that I have the ability to help children to bolster their performance in English classes even if the reason for their struggles is not apparent at first glance. My teaching style is a function of years of experience helping students. When working in a large classroom, differentiated assistance is required, as is adapting to accommodate the students' learning styles. I make it my business to find out what makes students tick so that I can personalize instruction plans that will all but certainly make learning effective and fun. That's actually where my love of tutoring first originated -- my ability to concentrate on students, one-on-one, to help them understand things that they previously found difficult. When not working, I enjoy reading, sports, music, and food.
