Hi! I am an elementary school SLP with 21 years of teaching experience. My passion is helping kids grow into strong readers, writers, and communicators. Every child deserves to find the joy that lies in the world of books and to have the skills necessary to succeed in school and in life. I believe learning to read and write well takes practice and hard work, but that doesn't mean we can't have fun along the journey! My strong understanding of child language development, phonics, phonological awareness, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension strategies, spelling, and written language has developed over many years of hands-on practice with elementary-aged children. I have taught children with a wide range of learning needs, from typically developing students who just need a boost to children with severe special needs. I have extensive experience co-teaching in K-6 classrooms, teaching in small groups, and collaborating with literacy specialists. My approach to instruction is creative, systematic, and research-based. Parents, I look forward to partnering with you to help grow not only your child's current skills, but his/her lifetime love for reading and writing!
